Agents competition
First prize each month 4 Day Kruger National Park bedded accommodation tour
Second prize each month 4 Day Kruger National Park camping accommodation tour
Competition runs during March, April, May, June
What must you do to win We will not be looking at the number of tours sold by each agent. We will be adding all the days of all the tours sold by each agent. The agent with the most number of days for tours sold will win.
  In other words:
If you sell 3 x 4 day Kruger national park tours, you have a total of 12 days (3 x 4 days)
If you sell 1 x 11 day Kruger Park & Victoria Falls tour, you have a total of 11 days (1 x 11 days)

This means that there are 4 x 4 Days Kruger National Park bedded accommodation tours to win and there are 4 x 4 Days Kruger National park camping accommodation tours to win.
One of each in March, April, May & June

What to do with the prize You can sell the tour to a client and keep the full payment, or you can book the tour for yourself.

Competition rules No contract agents qualify for the competition.
Prizes must be taken and booked before 31 August 2012.
Booking a prize will depend on availability.
No prize can be exchanged for cash or any other form of payment.
The management of Livingstone Trails will do the count, and results will be final.
The winners will be announced to all agents by email at the end of each month.

Big news
Kruger national park accommodation
We have moved back to Timbavati Safari Lodge as from 15 January 2012, only one day before the floods totally wiped out the camp where we were staying since April 2011. The standard of bedded accommodation is very high. Camping clients do not have to pitch or break down tents, as we have a permanent campsite with permanent erected tents. Each tent has a proper single bed mattress covered with fitted sheets. the lodge itself is amazing with large swimming pool, beautiful gardens, lovely bar and a restaurant where 3 course dinners are enjoyed. See "Accommodation on tour" in this website for description, plenty of photos as well as a few short (fast loading) video clips. It is a great place for our clients to relax after a long day game drives.

Night drives on Kruger national park tours
From 1994 until April 2011 we did all the night drives inside Kruger national park, through SANParks, which had much more disadvantages than advantages. Night drives were cancelled by the park without notice, they overbooked and the park guides made no effort to look for animals or even tell the clients about the few animals they saw on a night drive. We received many complaints from our clients. In April 2011 we started doing the night drives in the Big 5 Thornybush game reserve, which is part of Greater Kruger national park. The safari operators who operate the night drives for our clients, make a huge effort to make sure that clients are happy. And happy - they are. We have not received a single complaint so far about these night drives. The night drives are done after dinner, when it is truly night, and not a sunset drive which were done inside Kruger national park.
A night drive is an optional activity, which currently cost R 200 per person, payable in cash to the night drive guide when getting onto the night drive vehicle.

We strongly believe that Livingstone Trails offers and operates one of the best, if not the best Kruger national park budget tours, especially taking into consideration what is included, the tour prices and your commission. Where are you going to find the below, at the prices that Livingstone Trails charges for a 4 day Kruger national park tour.
Day 1: Hoedspruit cheetah & endangered species centre,.
Day 2: Full day game drives inside Kruger national park.
Day 3: Full day game drives inside Kruger national park.
Day 4: Three rondawels view point in the Blyde river canyon, before heading back to Johannesburg.
Staying at a 3 star lodge with all the frills, extras and 3 course dinners.
Bedded clients stay in private chalets with en-suite bathrooms.
Camping clients do not have to pitch or break down tents. Our tents have proper single bed matresses and not camping matts.
Night drives in Thornybush Big 5 game reserve. This must be the best night drives in miles around.
Staying only minutes from Orpen gate, which is the most central gate. We can do game drives every day into a different direction.

Victoria Falls
We made a few changes to the itineraries. The 2012 Victoria Falls itineraries now look like this: (Jhb = Johannesburg)

Again we think that Livingstone Trails offers a fantastic value for money tour with the above Victoria Falls tour options.
We also operate a variety of Kruger national park tours combined with our Victoria Falls. Brilliant value for money for the clients and great commissions for you as a booking agent.

Payment options
Option 1 (our preferred option/method)
You as the agent take a deposit of 25% from the client when making the booking, which you keep as your commission.
The client pays the outstanding balance to our guide on the morning of tour departure. This payment can be made in South African Rand, US Dollars, British pounds, or Euro cash - or by credit card.

Option 2
You as the agent take full payment from the client when making the booking.
You must then pay the tour price less your commission (as above) into our bank account. The payment must be in our account a minimum of 7 (seven) days before tour departure.
Please note that no clients will be picked up for tour departure, if we have not received payment in our account by the time the tour departs. Proof of payment will not be accepted, as we received false proof of payments in the past and are still waiting for payment months after the clients have been on tour.

Option 3
You as the agent book the client on our tour, but take no payment from the client.
The client pays the full tour price to our guide on the morning of tour departure. This payment can be made in South African Rand, US Dollars, British pounds, or Euro cash - or by credit card.
We will pay your commission into your bank account, after tour departure, and after we received payment from the client.

Credit card payments:
There will be an additional 5% credit card handling fee added to all credit card payments.
We can only accept Master and Visa credit card. no payments will be accepted with any other credit card or debit card.

Payments on day of tour departure:
These payments can be in cash or by credit card as specified above. You or the client must let us know at least three days before tour departure, how the client will be paying our guide. It will be accepted that the payment will be in South Africa Rand cash, if we were not notified otherwise at least three days before tour departure.
Clients will not be able to change payment method on the day of departure, as the trip funds will be worked out and given to the guide according to the payment method of clients, as specified before.

Sleeping bag hire:

Clients booking a camping tour will need a sleeping bag, which they can hire from Livingstone Trails at R60 once off, if they do not have a sleeping bag of their own.
Bedded accommodation clients on Kruger national park tours do not need a sleeping bag, as bedding is provided. Please note that bedded accommodation clients booking a 11 day, 6 day or 8 day Kruger Park + Victoria Falls tour will need a sleeping bag for the Victoria Falls leg of the tour.

Pickup and drop off addresses
Click here for a list of pickup and drop off addresses (opens in new Tab)
The above mentioned pickup addresses are where we normally do pick ups from, but not exclusively the only pickup addresses where we will pick clients up from. We will pick up from other places of accommodation (not private addresses) within 5 minutes drive of the above mentioned pickup addresses. Livingstone Trails already has a large variety of pickup addresses for the convenience of your and our clients.

Clients staying at private addresses
Clients are welcome to stay at family and friends at a private address. We will inform you and/or the clients of the closest pickup address to the private address where they will be staying. In such a case (which happens often), you must give us a telephone number where we can contact the clients to inform them of the pickup time the next morning. These clients will have to get to the pickup address on their own by arranging transport. We will not wait for clients who are late for pickups, and no refunds will be given or offered to clients who were late and missed the tour.

How to get your place of accommodation listed on our pickup list
A number of places of accommodation asked if we could list their establishments on our pickup address list, as they are close to other addresses on our pickup list. However, these places of accommodation are not booking our tours. Therefore we will not list them as a pickup address, although we will pickup from there if clients are booked to stay there.
The only way a place of accommodation will be listed on our pickup address list, is if they book our tours. We will be more than happy to pick clients up from most places of accommodation (within reasonable addresses), if  these places book the clients that has to be picked up on one of our tours.
Therefore the chances are good that if you book a client on our tours, and you are a place of accommodation (lodge, guest house, backpackers lodge, or hotel) - we will pick the clients up from your place of accommodation. You will then be listed on our pickup address list, if you book our tours regularly. This will definitely be in your advantage, as we have 3000 to 3500 clients on tour each year, and they will have a list to choose where they will be picked up from. The chances are good that you will get additional bed nights from clients who book direct, or through an agent.
